General Guidelines
SoyCon strives to do what they can to provide as much fun as possible over the weekend. The general audience is mainly directed towards PG-13 audiences, but there may be some content suited for young adults since the age range commonly consists of 15-25 years.
SoyCon wants to make sure that each attendee will enjoy their time during the event and hopefully show why SoyCon is the best gathering they ever been too. Please make sure that yourself and others that you're bringing with show respect towards the event and it's attendees. Your actions will reflect on the gathering as well as others around you. SoyCon highly suggests everyone to be considerate of their actions since we will be in a public area. We want to make sure we set a good example to anyone and anything around us. We recommend everyone not to endure any activity to make others uncomfortable, please leave it at home. Keep the attitude to a proper level. Activities involving illegal action will be tolerated to the proper authorities. Please refer to the City, State, and Federal laws for reference.
SoyCon is a growing gathering event and the number of attendees increase year after year. As the number increases, the harder it is for the staff to control a large amount of people. SoyCon suggests everyone to be in their best behavior and act maturely towards their surroundings. Please respect others as well as the community that is not part of SoyCon.
Even though SoyCon does not have the strongest security and safety protection, we ask if everyone not to take part in anything that involves something illegal or anything that involves you or anyone else getting hurt. We hate asking people to settle down, but we cannot allow anyone to be harm in any shape or form. Please take care of yourselves and make sure your body is running healthy over the course of the gathering. It's possible that any staff member on SoyCon may ask you to leave if your actions are inappropriate. We are here to go out, have fun, and create good memories for all of us.

Costuming
Please keep costumes to PG-13. We remind you that we are in public and any exposure that may seem offensive will not be allowed in SoyCon. Choose your costume wisely. Local laws of appropriate wear are still in effect. If you feel that your costume may seem offensive, please do not wear it and find another. SoyCon or the public authorities have the right to tell you to leave and change out if your costume is inappropriate. Make sure that your costume are fitted and sturdy since there will be lots of movement over the gathering. Keep an extra set of clothing just in case you want to change out of your costume.

Harassment and Assault
SoyCon requires everyone to have alot of fun, but sometimes things can get a bit too much. Harassment and assault will not be tolerated at this gathering. If one is harassing you and does not stop, please get in touch with one of the SoyCon staff members right away. SoyCon staff has the right to remove anyone if they do not follow the rules. We don't allow anyone to engage in physical contact, stalking, extreme verbal use, or unnescessary threats. If you're told to either "stop", "go away", "no", etc., we would highly suggest you do so because you probably are making the other person feel uncomfortable.

Signs and Images
Signs are allowed as long as its approved by SoyCon staff. We understand that there could be signs that are part of the costumes, but make sure they're not offensive to others or in public. That also goes for pictures as well. If your sign or picture possibly be offensive, don't make it very noticable or get rid of it. Repeating offensives will result dismissal from the gathering.

Drugs, Alcohol, and Smoking
SoyCon does not tolerate the use of drug or alcohol at the gathering. Anyone that is caught using any of these will result not only dismissal from SoyCon, but authorities will be contacted immediately. We have alot of minors that come to this gathering and we will not let anyone be intoxicated with these products. Cigarrette use is allowed, but smoking must be taken to an area away from the gathering. Also, please avoid giving cigarettes to minors. Anyone caught will result in dissmissal.

Water Guns, Projectiles, and Weapons
Water guns are allowed at SoyCon, but they cannot be filled with any type of liquid. Silly string and the like are not allowed since they can be messy to clean up.
Due to state regulations, real guns or fake guns are not allowed at SoyCon, even if it has an orange tip. We suggest not to bring any form of gun to this event.
Live steel or whips are also not allowed at SoyCon. We do not have anything that could have it peace bonded so please leave these types of weapons at home.

Photography and Video
SoyCon strongly suggest to bring any type of photography and video. Since we have no concerts or restricted events from recording, all media is open. Although, we strongly suggest to pay attention for anyone who don't want their photos or videos taken of them. If one wishes not to get their picture taken, DO NOT TAKE THEIR PICTURE. If one wishes not to be recorded, DO NOT RECORD VIDEO OF THEM. There is no press relations at SoyCon, but if you want to use your videos or photos from SoyCon towards the purpose of sale or publication to the press, please contact the Chairman for permission. These rules apply to every attendee at SoyCon. |
